Long Before Ananya & Jahnvi, 7 Actors From 90s Whom We Forgot Were Also Nepo Kids

In recent years, Bollywood has been subjected to a great deal of criticism for allegedly fostering nepotism or providing unfair opportunities to those who do not merit them (also known as “nepo kids”). Karan Johar is singled out among a large group of individuals as the primary target for fostering a culture of nepotism in Bollywood. But the truth is that Bollywood has a long history of nepotism that predates the present crop of celebrity children. Long before Ananya Pandey, Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Suhana Khan, Bollywood had nepo babies. Many of us have forgotten that the following seven performers hailing from the 1980s and 1990s were also known as “nepo kids”:

Nepo Kids Of 90s Bollywood Movies

1. Kajol

Yes! Despite the fact that she was one of the most successful actresses of the 1990s, Kajol is a member of her family’s extended family. Tanuja, her mother, is a great actress, and Shomu Mukherjee, her father, was a well-known filmmaker.

2. Ajay Devgn

Not only Kajol but also Ajay Devgn belonged to a family that was quite influential in the Bollywood industry. For those who are unaware, Ajay Devgn’s father, Veeru Devgan, was a well-known and highly regarded Bollywood action director. He worked in the industry for many years. He was involved in the production of over 80 Bollywood films as a fight and action sequence choreographer.

3. Raveena Tandon

Her father, Ravi Tandon, was not only well-known for his work as a producer but also as a filmmaker. He directed a number of critically acclaimed films, including Majboor, Khuddar, and Khel Khel Mein.

4. Fardeen Khan

The son of the legendary actor Feroze Khan, Fadeen Khan, was unable to replicate his father’s box-office success in any significant way. Even though he had many opportunities, he was unable to produce a film that was commercially successful.

5. Salman Khan

The fact that Salman Khan wasn’t on our list begs the question: how could we have? Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, is well-known in the film industry as a screenwriter, producer, and actor. The Khan family is one of the most well-known in all of Bollywood. Because he has so many ties in the industry, it should have been much simpler for Salman to establish a successful career in Bollywood.

This was followed by a series of films that were critical and commercial failures.
